"I
think animal testing is a bad idea; they get all nervous and give the
wrong answers." Joseph Blosephina |
I was born in Ashtabula, Ohio and grew up in southern California hiking and camping with my three brothers, a sister and parents. I turned eight at the top of Mt. Whitney. I played basketball, volleyball and softball in HS and softball in college at San Bernardino Valley College. I graduated from California State University at Chico with a major in Geography and a minor in Biology. I hiked most of California along the Sierra Crest Trail after college and then went to work as a grower in a greenhouse in Oklahoma. After a year I joined the US Army and went to Augsburg, Germany for two years. When I came home I began Graduate School at the University of Colorado, Boulder. (I managed to go to two big party schools without knowing it.) While in graduate school, I began as the first employee of GeoSpatial Solutions, Inc. and worked my way up to part owner and manager. After we sold that company I started a consulting GIS firm, New World Mapping Company, and provided general GIS services on 911, storm water, lidar and other projects. After spending several years raising 4 sons, I started a new company, Range Maps, Inc. which provides photographic services in support of real estate transactions, land stewardship and conservation practices.
